1) Whose responsibility is it to complete the Confirmation of Practical Experience Certificate when a student leaves the firm?
The CA Training Office is responsible for completing and submitting the Confirmation of Practical Experience Certificate when a student leaves the office’s employ, within 30 days of the student leaving the office or the student becoming eligible to apply for membership in a provincial Institute.

2) What is the process for reporting completed hours and submitting the Confirmation of Practical Experience Certificate?
To report completed hours, CA Training Offices must submit a Confirmation of Practical Experience Certificate on behalf of students who have completed their three-year terms or when students’ employment has ended with the office.

Both the Training Principal and the student must sign the form.

3) When should we register and start paying dues for co-op students?
CASB encourages CA Training Offices to register students and pay dues at the time students start their first work term. If CA Training Offices register students and pay dues retroactively, they will have to pay the current dues in effect at the time of registration. As a result, offices may pay a slightly higher rate.

CA Training Offices should submit to CASB a Confirmation of Practical Experience form for each co-op term. The office or the student may complete the form, and the Training Principal and CASB student must both sign the form.
