CASB acknowledges the vital link between students' learning process and facilitators' performance. Students frequently associate their experience within CASB in terms of their interaction with facilitators. Recognizing facilitators who approach their role with excellence serves to encourage this level of performance in every facilitator. Striving to achieve this level of performance excellence ultimately benefits students, their employers and the whole professional accountancy education process.

Through the generosity of the firm of Kouri Berezan Heinrichs Chartered Accountants of Edmonton in their gift to the Chartered Accountants' Education Foundation of Alberta, CASB has been able to establish an Outstanding Facilitator Award. The Award is in the form of a $500 prize and appropriate plaque suitable for display in the recipient's place of employment. The Award is presented annually at the convocation of the Provincial Institute of the respective recipient's residence.

Nominations for the Kouri Berezan Heinrichs Outstanding Facilitator Award are accepted from all CASB students and can be submitted in the form of letters which cite the special contributions made by the nominee during the facilitation process.

In January the successful Uniform Evaluation (UFE) candidates from the preceding year will be encouraged to identify the on-line and in-person facilitators with whom they have worked and who are deserving of such recognition. During the summer, all CASB students will be encouraged to nominate potential recipients. Information on the award will be posted on the CASB website and include material to encourage nominations at any time throughout the year.

In early Fall of each year the assembled nominations are presented to a representative of the firm of Kouri Berezan Heinrichs Chartered Accountants. The recommendations are also presented to the CASB Board at their Fall meeting.
